Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs)
WAVs increase the mobility of wheelchair users, enabling them to easily access a small to medium size motor vehicle. Most often, the driver is someone other than the wheelchair user but advanced adaptation options allow wheelchair users to drive the vehicle too.
New and nearly new WAVs can be purchased directly or financed through the Motability Scheme, subject to status.

Which size WAV is right for me?
There are three different sizes to suit the differing needs of each wheelchair passenger and the number of extra passengers to be carried:
Small WAVs usually accommodate up to four people including the wheelchair user. They normally have a ramp rather than a lift to allow access.
Usually with a lowered floor to give more headroom inside and reduce the angle of the ramp, making it easier to get in and out. This is a typical but not the only vehicle layout. Please get in touch for advice or go direct to our New WAVs or Used WAVs pages.
Medium WAVs are more suitable for a larger wheelchair or if you have a lot of equipment. They seat between five and seven people including the wheelchair user.

Large WAVs are a good option if you travel with lots of passengers. They are suitable for large or heavy wheelchairs or if you carry lots of equipment.
